Getting started with MyHappySky

Set up MyHappySky on your child's tablet in a few minutes, with no account needed.

MyHappySky is free and needs no sign-in. Open it in the web browser on the tablet your child uses, and the tools are ready.

Put MyHappySky on the home screen

Most tablet browsers can add a website to the home screen, so it opens like an app with one tap. Look for "Add to Home Screen" in your browser's share or menu options. Once it's there, your child can find the sky icon on their own.

Keep your child inside MyHappySky

Tablets have a built-in feature that locks the screen to one app, so a stray tap doesn't open something else. On an iPad it's called Guided Access, and on Android tablets it's called screen pinning or app pinning. You turn it on once in the tablet's settings, then start it each time you hand the tablet over. Your tablet maker's help pages show the exact steps for your model.

Set your parent code

The first time you open the parent portal, MyHappySky asks you to choose a 4-digit parent code. The code keeps settings, stages and scores out of your child's reach. It isn't a password, and it never leaves the tablet.

Choose what your child sees

In the parent portal, open Settings to pick which tools show in child mode, turn sound on or off, choose the voice, and set how much movement appears on screen. Start with one or two tools. A short, familiar screen is easier to use than a full one.

Everything stays on this tablet

Your child's board, schedule, settings and progress are saved in the browser on this tablet. Nothing about your child is sent to us. Clearing the browser's data, or moving to a new tablet, starts fresh, so download a backup file from Settings now and then. You can load it back on the new tablet.

Where to go next

Each tool has its own how-to here in Help for Parents. If something doesn't work the way you expect, send us a note through the contact page.
